Real-World Experience
Virtual gift cards (VGCs) used to be awesome, but lately, these once-reliable digital lifelines have been acting up. I’ve had several recent purchases canceled mid-transaction because the VGC suddenly became invalid. These abrupt setbacks are extremely frustrating and potentially embarrassing, especially if you’re in line at a store.
Everyday Use
Not being able to rely on VGCs as a secure and convenient payment method is a major inconvenience. I used to appreciate how easy it was to load funds and use them seamlessly online or in brick-and-mortar stores. But with the recent string of issues, I’ve had to resort to carrying cash or using my credit card instead, which is not as ideal for budgeting or security.
