Real-World Experience
When I first played MGS 4, I was puzzled by why Big Boss was kept alive. But as I played through the game, I realized that his presence served a crucial purpose. Big Boss’s continued existence allowed him to confront his past and legacy, and to make amends for his mistakes. His character arc is both heartbreaking and inspiring, and it wouldn’t have been possible if he had died in an earlier game.
